Introduction

This five-day course teaches leadership and management skills for nonprofit settings. It focuses on practical tools you can use immediately: planning, budgeting, staff leadership, fundraising, and governance. The content responds to tighter budgets, higher accountability, and the need to retain skilled staff. You will leave with templates and practices you can apply in your organisation next week.

Objectives

After the course you will be able to:
1. Set strategic priorities and convert them into an annual workplan with clear responsibilities and timelines.
2. Prepare and monitor simple budgets and financial forecasts to keep programs on track.
3. Define measurable program outcomes, collect basic performance data, and use it to improve delivery.
4. Draft a practical fundraising plan, prepare a donor case, and lead stewardship conversations.
5. Clarify board and staff roles, strengthen board oversight, and address common governance risks.
